Our comprehensive and holistic training program focuses on healing-centered & trauma-informed practices for guiding ethical, safe, and inclusive yoga and mindfulness classes.

We are a certified Yoga Alliance 200 hour School. Lead by senior instructors and PIP co-founders Jaina Two Rivers and Chance York. Deepen your knowledge about yoga and learn to teach. Our program focuses on trauma-informed practices, teaching yoga to all ages, and healing modalities through a culturally relevant lens.

Time: Wednesdays 7-9pm, Saturdays 9-3pm and Sundays 1-5pm.

16 week in-person course

Investment: $2500. Full Scholarships available for people serving Black and brown communities.

Location: Northside Artspace Lofts, Minneapolis

Yoga Teacher Training is for anyone interested in holistic wellness, growth, knowledge of self, and liberation. No experience necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much prior yoga experience do I need to take Teacher Training?

We welcome all levels of experience. Come as you are. Not everyone who enrolls in Yoga Teacher Training want to go on to become an instructor. Some students just want to deepen their practice and knowledge. We practice public speaking which will serve you well in all aspects of your life.

How many students are in each co-hort?

We usually have 20 students.

What does the tuition full scholarship include?

Instruction, textbooks, a yoga mat, a block, a strap, and a comprehensive study manual.

Are there any additional costs besides tuition?

If you choose to work with youth you will need to do a background check which is about $50. Yoga alliance certification (post graduation) and liability insurance is around $200. https://yogaalliance.org/

What if I have to miss a class?

You can miss up to 5 classes. We have measures in place to make sure you stay on track for graduation and make up the work.

How can I start to prepare for the course?

Join us at Wellness Wednesdays! Meet your instructors and get a taste of the yoga we practice.

What are our trauma-informed learning objectives?

  • Recognize the important role of body-based interventions in trauma recovery

  • Assess the needs of specific populations

  • Describe easy to creatively modify poses for various populations and situations

  • Design a brief, population-specific yoga sequence using appropriate postures and breathing

  • Discuss possible behavioral challenges and strategies to creatively address them

  • Identify new tools and strategies for improved communication

  • Identify potential boundary issues with students and describe appropriate responses

  • Recognize personal sources of support and encouragement for doing this work
